Actress Parineeti Chopra has shared a simple makeup trick for dealing with poor lighting in hotel rooms, offering a practical tip for travellers, actors and anyone who struggles to get the right light while getting ready.
In a video, the actress, dressed in a bathrobe, demonstrated how changing the direction of a light source can make applying makeup easier when the room’s lighting is less than ideal.
Explaining the common problem, Parineeti pointed out that hotel room lights can sometimes be harsh or poorly positioned, making it difficult to get an accurate view while doing makeup.
“When you are doing your makeup in a hotel room, where the light is not so great, and I know makeup artists and actors face this all the time, you know they have these crazy lights, which are facing you and making everything look worse? Do this,” she said.
She then demonstrated her solution, suggesting that instead of directing the light straight at the face, users should turn it towards the mirror so that the light reflects back.
“Instead of the light looking at you, face it into the mirror on your reflection. And you have this amazing light on your face. Perfect to do makeup,” the actress explained.
The trick offers a simple way to create softer, more evenly reflected light without needing additional makeup equipment.
On the professional front, Parineeti earned praise for her performance in Imtiaz Ali’s 2024 musical biographical drama ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, in which she starred alongside Diljit Dosanjh as Amarjot Kaur, the wife and musical collaborator of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila.
She subsequently expanded her work across digital formats, making her web series debut with Netflix’s mystery thriller ‘Shaque: Trust No One’, in which she plays a mother searching for her missing child. She also headlined the investigative thriller ‘Reporting Live’, centred on a journalist and his cameraman investigating a sand-mining mafia.
On the personal front, Parineeti is married to politician Raghav Chadha. The couple tied the knot in Udaipur in September 2023 and welcomed their son, Neer, in October 2025.
