Papmochani Ekadashi 2026: Ekadashi date is considered very special and important in Sanatan Dharma. This date has been dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the protector of the world. On this day, Lord Vishnu is worshiped with fast and rituals. There are two Ekadashi fasts every month. The first in Krishna and the second in Shukla Paksha of the month. Papmochani Ekadashi fast is observed on the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month.
The fast of Papmochan Ekadashi is going to be observed tomorrow this year. According to the Panchang, this year the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month has started today at 08:10 am. Whereas, Ekadashi Tithi will end tomorrow on March 15, 2026 at 09:16 am. In such a situation, keeping in mind the Udaya Tithi, the fast of Papmochani Ekadashi will be observed tomorrow.
Auspicious time of Papmochani Ekadashi puja (Papmochani Ekadashi 2026 Shubh Muhurat)
- Sunrise- Will last till 06:47 in the morning.
- Brahma Muhurta- Will be from 05:11 am to 05:59 am.
- Abhijeet Muhurta- Will be from 12:23 pm to 01:12 pm.
- Twilight time- It will last from 06:46 to 07:10 in the evening.
- Evening: It will last from 06:48 to 08:00 in the evening.
Papmochani Ekadashi Puja Vidhi
On the day of Ekadashi, wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath and wear clean yellow clothes. After this take a pledge to fast. Then light a ghee lamp in front of the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu. Offer water, Akshat, yellow clothes, sandalwood, yellow flowers, fruits and sweets to God. Chant Vishnu mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay’. Listen or read the story of Papamochani Ekadashi fast. At last perform Aarti of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi.
Paran of Papmochani Ekadashi fast (Papmochani Ekadashi 2026 Paran Time)
Papamochani Ekadashi fast will be broken on the next day i.e. on 16th March. Dwadashi Tithi will end on March 16 at 9.40 am. In such a situation, the fast can be broken between 06:30 am to 08:54 am.
