Shocking revelations have come to light in ED’s action against fake cough syrup gang. The fear of houses built from illegal earnings is so great that even experts are running away from evaluating the property. Property worth crores has come to light in Lucknow and Varanasi.
After the illegal cough syrup syndicate was busted, the heat of investigation has now reached the luxurious mansions which were built with this black money. When the Enforcement Directorate (ED) came to get these properties evaluated, a surprising thing came to light. The gang terror is so high that ED is not able to even get experts to assess the property. The experts with whom the officials reached the cells returned from the spot as soon as they heard the names.
Search going on for three days, experts pulled out
According to sources related to ED, search and investigation operation is going on for the last three days at the house of constable Alok Pratap Singh, dismissed from UP STF, in Lucknow and the house of Shubham Jaiswal in Varanasi. On Saturday, experts were called to evaluate the luxury goods and land and houses found in these chambers. But three different experts who reached Alok’s house refused to do the work saying that these people are domineering and there is a threat to life. On the other hand, no expert was ready to come to Shubham Jaiswal’s house.

Had to call experts from outside
Under compulsion, ED had to change its strategy. Alok’s house was evaluated by experts called from Banaras, while experts were sent from Lucknow for Shubham Jaiswal’s house in Varanasi. Amidst tight security arrangements, measurement of the land, house and valuables inside was done.
Crores of rupees spent on interior only
According to ED officials, crores of rupees have been spent only on the interior decoration of these two cells. This does not include the cost of land and building construction. Money was spent lavishly on exotic tiles, expensive curtains, luxury toilet fittings, AC, fridge, chandeliers, lighting and wall decoration. Investigation has revealed that the illegal earnings were converted into a luxurious lifestyle.
No concrete information received from family members
During this period, ED also tried to collect information about those firms through which attempts were made to convert black money into white. But no concrete information could be received from the families of Alok and Shubham. Neither the documents of the firms were revealed nor was it told from where such a huge amount came.\
Alok will be interrogated in jail
According to ED officials, now dismissed constable Alok Pratap Singh will be interrogated in jail itself after taking permission from the court. At present he is on STF remand, the period of which is ending today. Officials believe that important clues related to illegal networks and assets can be found only through direct interrogation.
Even assurance of security did not help
In Lucknow, when experts refused the evaluation, ED officers assured them of security. But experts said that his life could be in danger after the officers left. Ultimately, an evaluation was done through experts called from outside, in which it was estimated that there was property worth more than Rs 5 crore in both the cells. This case is no longer limited to only fake cough syrup, but is exposing the dark truth of illegal earnings, terror and power, which has posed a big challenge to the investigating agencies.
