Are Gram Panchayats mere paper administrative units, or are they truly the soul of rural life? Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath believes that these Panchayats are the strongest foundation of rural development and now Uttar Pradesh is taking a big step towards making them economically self-reliant.
Increase in income of Panchayats through transparency and technological advancement
In the review meeting of Panchayati Raj Department, the Chief Minister said that corrective steps are underway to increase the self-financial capacity of Gram Panchayats.

- Simultaneous improvement in revenue generation of Panchayats and quality of public service.

Expertise in Building Map Approval
To ensure the quality of construction in District Panchayat areas, instructions have been given to deploy civil engineers or architects in every District Panchayat. This will increase transparency in local construction works and approval process.
Aadhaar Center in Village Secretariat – Both Income and Convenience
There is a plan to open Aadhaar centers in village secretariats to increase the income of Gram Panchayat. Here citizens will be able to avail services like Aadhaar card creation, modification and biometric update. The fees received from this will provide additional revenue to the Panchayat and will provide convenience to the citizens. There will be a time-bound lease of ponds and ponds, the amount received will be spent on every household tap scheme, water conservation and rural welfare works. A clear policy will be made for this.
Self-reliant Village – Self-reliant India
The Chief Minister said that by increasing the financial capacity of Gram Panchayats, rural development work will progress rapidly. Panchayat representatives will be given training in financial management, digital service delivery and public facility operation. The aim of the state government is that every gram panchayat should become a symbol of service, cleanliness and self-reliance.
