Panchak dates 2026 calendar: In Hindu religion, Panchak is seen as inauspicious. It is believed that the auspicious and auspicious works done during Panchak do not yield full results and one may have to face many problems in life. According to astrology, when the Moon transits in Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati Nakshatra, the period of these five days is called Panchak.

Do not do these 5 things even by mistake during Panchak
Southward journey: Traveling towards the south during Panchak is considered prohibited, because this direction is considered to be of Yamraj. If travel is necessary, then before leaving, eat curd and jaggery or have darshan of Hanuman ji.
Cutting/Gathering Wood: Wood, fuel or other burning materials should not be collected during these five days.
Roofing: Putting roof on the house during Panchak period is also considered inauspicious. It is believed that this can bring discord and unrest in the house.
Making bed/cot: Construction of bed, cot or any kind of furniture should not be started during the Panchak period.
Cremation of dead body: If a person dies during the Panchak period, the last rites should be performed in a special manner. Before the last rites, one should consult a scholar, perform Panchak Shanti, make five effigies (of flour or kush) and burn them along with the dead body.
Importance of Panchak
Panchak occurs every month in the Hindu calendar. It starts with the Moon’s entry into Aquarius and continues till Pisces. This period is of five days. During these days, all the auspicious activities like Mundan, housewarming, marriage, Upanayana Sanskar etc. are prohibited. It is advised to postpone auspicious activities during Panchak so that no inauspicious event or problem comes in life.
