The victim girl said that she is a resident of Bangladesh. She was a seventh grade student, after failing in a subject in the examination there, she ran away from home and came to India with a woman who knows. According to the Palghar police, on July 26, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit of Meera-Bhayander Vasai-Virar police in Naigaon raided with the help of 2 NGOS-Exodus Road India Foundation and Hormony Foundation. 10 were arrested from the flat and other places during the raid. According to the victim teenager, he was first taken to Nadiad in Gujarat, where he was physically abused for 3 months. He told that he was fired with a warm spoon. During this time 4 more girls were recovered. Investigation revealed that the racket extends to Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka. The victims were forcibly pushed into prostitution and tortured.
