New Delhi: Popular Indian singer Palash Muchhal has proposed to Smriti Mandhana at the DY Patil Stadium, where India won the Women’s World Cup final against South Africa earlier this month. Palash shared the proposal video on his Instagram account in which he is seen leading India’s vice-captain to the centre of the pitch. He gave Smriti a surprise by presenting her with a ring.
The video started with Palash guiding Smriti, who is blindfolded, to the centre of the ground at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. When she finally removed the blindfold, she found that her longtime boyfriend was down on one knee, proposing to her. “She said yes,” Palash wrote as he shared the heartwarming clip.

An emotional Smriti accepted the proposal, and just a few moments later, their friends rushed to the centre of the pitch to celebrate the special occasion with the couple. Palak Muchhal, who is also a popular singer and a sister of Palash, joined them at the venue.

India’s vice-captain Smriti broke the news to her fans through a funny reel on social media, featuring her World Cup-winning teammates, Jemimah Rodrigues and Radha Yadav, among others. She flaunted her engagement ring in the video shared on her Instagram profile.
Smriti Mandhana was the top run-scorer from the Indian team in the World Cup, scoring a record-breaking 434 runs in nine innings. She also smashed a memorable ton against New Zealand in a crucial league match.
She finished as the second-leading run getter of the Women’s World Cup, after South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt. Last year, Smriti led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to their maiden Women’s Premier League (WPL) title.
