Shaktipeeth and Mazar

Located in Haidernagar of Palamu district, this Devi Dham is not only worshiped as a Shaktipeeth, but it is also a symbol of Ganga-Jamuni culture. The biggest feature of the temple complex is that Jinn Baba’s tomb is situated right near the temple of Mother Goddess. People of both Hindu and Muslim religions pay their respects in the same courtyard. It is believed in this Dham that people suffering from spiritual forces, ghosts or black magic get freedom here. The scenes here during the fair are extremely shocking.

There is a huge fire pit in the temple courtyard. It is said that as soon as the victim comes near this fire, the evil power within him becomes active. The victim suddenly starts screaming or doing strange activities. Local people claim that during this time the spiritual forces present in the body apologize for their mistakes in front of Mother Goddess and Jinn Baba. After apologizing, the victim becomes completely normal, which people consider as freedom from the upper obstacle.

The tradition continues for 100 years

This unique fair is not a new phenomenon. According to local residents, this tradition has been going on for more than 100 years. This fair lasts for 10 days twice a year, during Sharadiya and Chaitra Navratri. Thousands of people come here not only from Jharkhand, but also from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal and Odisha.
