New Delhi: Pakistan opener Sameer Minhas slammed a brilliant ton against India in the final of the U19 Asia Cup 2025 at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai on Sunday, December 21. Minhas provided Pakistan with a strong start in the summit clash and went on to notch up his ton off just 71 deliveries to deflate India. It was Mihas’ second ton in the tournament and first against India U19.
The highly-rated 19-year-old batter looked in great touch from the onset and played the new ball with impeccable control to get Pakistan off to a flyer after they were asked to bat first in the all-important final. He took the attack to India after settling down well and continued his blitzkrieg on a track which had little assistance for the bowlers.
Minhas added 35 runs for the first wicket with his opening partner Hamza Zahoor, who was dismissed by Henil Patel on 18 off 14 balls in the 4th over. The elegant right-hander then joined hands with Usman Khan (35) to share an important 92-run stand for the second wicket.
Minhas brought up his fifty off just 29 deliveries and raced to his hundred in the next 42 balls. The left-hander completed his century in style with a boundary against Indian pacer Deepesh Devendran in the 29th over of Pakistan’s innings. The right-hander switched gears after notching up his ton and looks set for a big score in the all-important final.
