A Pakistani player has been accused of misbehaving with a female hotel employee during the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. The team manager resolved the matter by apologizing and imposing a fine on the player.

Colombo: After poor performance in the T20 World Cup, the Pakistani cricket team is embroiled in a new controversy. In Kandy, Sri Lanka, a team player has been accused of misbehaving with a female hotel employee. According to reports, the player has also been fined. This incident happened just before the last match against Sri Lanka in Super-8.

According to the report of ‘Telecom Asia Sport’, this incident took place at the Golden Crown Hotel, where the Pakistani team was staying. The victim woman is part of the housekeeping staff of the hotel. It is being told that when the player misbehaved with the woman, she started screaming and called other hotel staff for help. After this, the hotel management raised this matter with Pakistani team manager Naveed Cheema and demanded strict action against the player.

However, team manager Naveed Cheema apologized to the hotel management and put the matter to rest for now by imposing a fine on the player. The name of the accused player has not been officially revealed. But upon returning to Pakistan he will have to appear before the PCB disciplinary committee. After this incident, old controversies related to Pakistani players have also come into discussion again.

Last year during the England tour, batsman Haider Ali was detained by Manchester Police on sexual assault charges. However, he was later released due to lack of evidence. Earlier, Malang Ali, the team’s masseur during the Malaysia tour, was also convicted in a similar case.

Despite defeating Sri Lanka by 5 runs, Pakistan was out of the semi-final race on the basis of net run rate. Now this new controversy is another big blow for the team. It is believed that Pakistan Cricket Board can investigate further in this matter.
