Now Pakistan started urging

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said on Monday that we urge India to immediately start the normal operation of Indus Waters Treaty and fully fulfill its treaty related responsibilities. In this statement, Pakistan welcomed the court of Arbitration on August 8, which has explained the design of India’s new hydroelectric projects on Western Rivers – Chenab (Jhelum) and Indus (Indus) –

According to Pakistan, the court has clearly stated that India will have to let the water of Western rivers flow for the use of Pakistan and the exceptions of hydro-electric projects will be according to the provisions fixed in the treaty only.

What is the attitude of India?

India has never recognized the court of arbitration proceedings and has rejected Pakistan’s objections. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India had temporarily stopped Indus Water Treaty, accusing Pakistan of supporting terrorists.

India has full authority over the water of rivers Beas, SATLUJ and Ravi under this agreement in 1960 in the World Bank’s mediation, while Pakistan has the right to the Indus, Jhelum and Chenab rivers.

Threat of war and nuclear attack

On Monday, Bilawal Bhutto said that India’s steps have caused major damage to Pakistan. If India continues on this path, then we have to consider all our options including war. A day earlier, Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir threatened the nuclear war and said that if Pakistan is in danger of existence in a future war, it would end half the world.
