Pakistan suffer humiliating series loss against Bangladesh after going down in Dhaka T20I

New Delhi: Shoriful Islam shined with three wickets as Bangladesh thrashed Pakistan in second T20I match by 8 runs in Dhaka to win the series. Chasing a moderate total of 133, Pakistan were all out for 125 in the final over after a fight from Faheem Ashraf who scored a half-century but it wasn’t enough to help the side cross the finish line.

By virtue of this victory, the hosts have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after they had crushed the Pakistani side by 7 wickets at the same venue in the first match. Meanwhile, apart from Islam, who was successful in defending the moderate total for his side, Mehidi Hasan and Tazim Hasan too contributed in wrecking havoc on the team with two wickets each while Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain too contributed with a wicket each.

Batters falter in chase

The top six batters in the Pakistan unit faltered in an easy chase at the Shere Bangla National Stadium as the entire line up looked listless against a dominant Bangladeshi bowling side. Apart from Ashraf who fought well, Abbas Afridi and Ahmed Daniyal were the other contributors with 19 and 17 runs respectively.

Earlier in the first innings, Jaker Ali and Mahedi Hasan scored 55 and 33 runs respectively to take the hosts to 133 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. For Pakistan, Salman Mirza, Ahmed Daniyal and Abbas Afridi claimed two wickets apiece.
