Pakistan alleges that this film shows its wrong image. Especially the Sindh government of Pakistan has objected to the story of Lyari, the area of Rehman dacoit shown in the Ranveer Singh starrer film. According to him, Lyari is not the symbol of bloodshed as shown in the film, but of peace and tranquility and to show this, he is making a film on Lyari, which will be released worldwide.
Film on Lyari being made in Pakistan
It is being told that Pakistan is making a film named ‘Meri Lyari’ to present the story of Lyari to the world. Lyari is located in the south-west part of Karachi in the Sindh province of Pakistan. Sindh government has supported the makers of this film. Sindh Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon claimed in a statement regarding this film that he will release this film at the international level. He accused India of spreading false propaganda about Lyari and said that this area is not a symbol of violence but of culture, peace and courage. He said that this film will be released next month and will introduce the world to the real identity of Lyari.
About Lyari and the film ‘Dhurandhar’
Lyari is the area of Pakistan from where Benazir Bhutto became the Prime Minister after winning the elections. According to the story of ‘Dhurandhar’, Lyari is a den of terror, where gangsters like Rehman Dacoit have ruled. Akshay Khanna has played the role of dacoit Rehman in the film, which shows how dangerous and ruthless a terrorist he actually was. Apart from Akshay Khanna, actors like Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun have also played important roles in ‘Dhurandhar’, which was released on December 5. The film has reached close to the Rs 300 crore mark in India and has crossed the worldwide earning mark of Rs 450 crore.
