It so happened that Pakistan team had to achieve the target of 253 runs in 33.3 overs against India to make it to the semi-finals. Even though the match is being played 50-50 overs, Pakistan had to win in the same number of overs to survive in the World Cup, but they completely failed to do so. The bowlers of Team India tied it in such a way that none of the Pakistani batsmen were able to bat openly, due to which they failed to achieve this target.
