‘Pakistan Has Nothing To Do With Islam, Is Threat To Humanity’: Owaisi Urges Türkiye To Rethink Support

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, calling it a ‘threat to humanity’ due to its long-standing role in sponsoring terrorism.

In a strong message to the international community, the Hyderabad MP emphasised the need to expose Pakistan’s actions globally.

Speaking to PTI Videos on Saturday, Owaisi said, “Pakistan with its long history of sponsoring terrorism has become a threat to humanity,” adding that this would be at the core of his message as a member of an all-party delegation being sent by the Indian government to key world capitals.

Highlighting the impact of cross-border terrorism, Owaisi said, “”India has been a victim of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. This began during the time of (former Pakistan President) Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, and we need to tell (the world) about this and also about the Kandahar plane hijack, 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, 2001 Parliament attacks, Uri and Pathankot incidents, killing of seven tourists in Reasi and Pahalgam. This is a danger for humanity. I am not aware about the group I will be part of and who is going to be the chairperson. We need to put forth India’s story. Pakistan is trying to project itself as an Islamic country, but India also has nearly 20 crore Muslims. We need to tell (the world) about this as well.”

Although he noted that he is yet to be briefed by the government on the specifics of the diplomatic outreach, the AIMIM leader stressed the importance of challenging Pakistan’s narrative of being an Islamic nation in its conflicts with India. “This is nonsense. Nearly 20 crore [200 million] Muslims live in India. This too must be conveyed,” he said.

Owaisi further accused the Pakistani deep state and military of pursuing an unwritten ideology aimed at destabilising India. “Destabilising India, fomenting communal divide and stalling the country’s economic rise are part of Pakistan’s unwritten ideology,” he asserted.

Referring to the historical backdrop, the MP said that India should have recognised Pakistan’s motives when it sent tribal invaders into Jammu and Kashmir post-Partition in 1947. “They are doing this tamasha since then. They will continue to do it tomorrow and are not going to stop,” he remarked, adding that the recent terror attack in Pahalgam had exhausted India’s patience.

Türkiye Must Reconsider Their Stance Of Supporting Pakistan, They Have Nothing To Do With Islam: Owaisi

According to news agency ANI, Owaisi also urged Türkiye to reconsider its stance on supporting Pakistan, drawing attention to the historical ties between India and Türkiye. “Türkiye must reconsider their stance of supporting Pakistan. We must remind Türkiye that there is a bank in Türkiye called İşbank, whose earlier depositors were people of India. Türkiye has many historical connections with India,” he said.

He added, “We must constantly remind Türkiye that more than 200 million honourable Muslims live in India… There are more Muslims in India than in Pakistan. The way Pakistan has behaved so far, they have nothing to do with Islam at all.”

Owaisi On India’s Diplomatic Outreach

Elaborating on India’s diplomatic outreach, the Hyderabad MP said, “We will be representing the Government of India, and not the AIMIM or any other political party. We surely are MPs and represent a party, but we will be doing this to make the world aware about what’s happening in our country, how our women are becoming widows and children becoming orphans, and how Pakistan wants to destabilise us. We are the fifth largest economy, but a neighbouring country… if the region gets destabilised, then it will impact the entire world.”

“Never forget that 21 civilians have also been killed (in cross-border shelling). Four children were killed in Pooch. Five of our jawans were killed. We will present all this to the countries… We will present the Indian government’s vision to the best of our capability,” he added.

Owaisi further quipped, “Pakistanis have not seen anyone else so outspoken or handsome. They only see me in India… They should keep listening to me; their knowledge will increase, and their ignorance will disappear.”

Owaisi On Madhya Pradesh Minister’s Remarks On Colonel Sofiya Qureshi

Owaisi condemend Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah’s remarks on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and said, “He (Vijay Shah) is a responsible leader and a minister of a state. She (Colonel Sofiya Qureshi) is a part of our armed forces, and the country’s daughter, but you are associating this with religion. This shows his hatred for a particular community. He needs to understand that he should hate Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. The BJP should sack him from the Cabinet and he should be arrested and sent to jail. This will set an example not just for the county, but for the entire world.”

Owaisi’s remarks come amid heightened tensions following a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam and as India intensifies diplomatic efforts to counter Pakistan’s global narrative.
