Pakistan captain Fatima Sana hopeful after injury ahead of India T20 WC match

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana experienced an injury scare ahead of her team’s opening match against India in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Sana, leading Pakistan for the second time in a T20 World Cup, sustained a knock to her knee during practice on Saturday. Despite the incident, the injury is not expected to prevent her participation in the game.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Sana said, “Ayesha (Zafar) baaji played the shot, and it hit my knee. I think it is good now.”

When asked about her fitness for the crucial clash on Sunday, she responded, “Yes, hopefully.”
