New Delhi: Pakistan’s opener Sahibzada Farhan smashed a half-century against India in the ongoing Asia Cup Super 4 clash at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, September 21. After completing his fifty, Farhan marked the milestone with a ‘gun-firing’ celebration, which erupted into massive controversy among fans.
The celebration caught the eyes of cricket fans because of the severe political tensions between both countries right now. The Indian team refused to shake hands with the Pakistan side before and after the group-stage game of the 2025 Continental Cup.
In response, Pakistan’s skipper skipped the post-match ceremony, and now again in the second meeting of the Asia Cup 2025, Suryakumar Yadav refused to shake hands with Salman Ali Agha at the toss.
With all the chaos and drama, Pakistan’s batter mocked Indian fans with a gun-firing celebration. Before reaching the milestone, Farhan got two lifelines and completed his half-century in 34 balls. After scoring the fifty in 34 balls, he added just seven runs in 11 balls. Farhan was trying to be aggressive in the innings but ended up with just a 128.89 strike-rate.

Pakistan register their highest-total against India in T20Is (batting first)
After a humiliating loss against India in the first match of the 2025 Asia Cup, Pakistan made a splendid comeback in the Super 4 clash. The Men in Green scored 171/5 in 20 overs after Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav invited them to bat first. This is also the highest total by Pakistan against India in T20Is (batting first).
Sahibzada Farhan’s half-century and Faheem Ashraf’s cameo helped their side to get an above-par score in a thriller contest. Every Pakistani batter contributed with some important runs, but India also helped them to get a respectable total by giving four lifelines to their batters.
Jasprit Bumrah was hammered by Pakistan batters and recorded his third-worst spell in his T20I career by giving 45 runs in four overs without picking up a wicket.
