Something has happened to the players of Pakistan hockey team which is difficult to even imagine. The players of Pakistan hockey team have alleged that the board gave them much less money than what was promised and now these players are refusing to play in the second round of the Men’s FIH Pro League to be held in February next year. These players allege that they have not been given full daily allowance for the matches played earlier this month.

Pakistani Hockey Board ate the players’ money!

Making a big allegation, a senior Pakistani hockey player said that the Pakistan Hockey Board had assured him that during the Pro League competition in Argentina, they would give him 30 thousand PKR i.e. 9625 Indian rupees every day, but only 11 thousand PKR i.e. 3529 Indian rupees were given to those players. Meaning the Pakistani team openly betrayed them. A player said, ‘We were assured that we would be given an allowance of PKR 30,000 every day during the Pro League competition in Argentina earlier this month. Last week the daily allowance was deposited in our accounts but only 11,000 PKR was deposited which is a complete fraud.

Pakistan Hockey Federation raised its hands

The surprising thing is that Pakistan Hockey Federation has said on this matter that they cannot do much. Pakistan Hockey Federation is also admitting that the players should have got so much money but now they are giving up. PHF secretary Rana Mujahid said, ‘As per PHF policy, players should be given an allowance of Rs 30,000 each, but the PSB is bearing all the expenses for both the phases of the Pro League hockey competition, so we cannot do much in this matter.’ Let us tell you that Pakistan team had lost all four matches in Argentina and now this team has to play four matches in Australia in February. If this dispute is not resolved then trouble for the Pakistani team is certain.
