Pakistan vs South Africa: Pakistan took the lead in the first innings of the Lahore Test against South Africa. 39 year old Pakistani spinner Nauman Ali played a big role in the lead that Pakistan got. Nauman Ali not only took six wickets against South Africa but also created big records while doing so. After scoring 378 runs in its first innings, Pakistan bundled out South Africa’s first innings for 269 runs.
Nauman Ali’s ‘Sixer’ did wonders
Nauman Ali alone took 6 wickets out of 10 wickets of South Africa in the first innings. He took these wickets giving 112 runs in 35 overs. This is the 5th time since July 2023 that Nauman Ali has achieved the feat of taking 6 wickets. During this period, he has taken 52 wickets at an average of 15.21, which is his best performance compared to any bowler.
First left arm spinner of Pakistan to do so
Nauman Ali, who made his Test debut in 2021, has achieved the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings for the 9th time so far in his 20 match career. This is a new record made by any left arm spinner of Pakistan. Apart from this, he has also done the feat of taking 10 wickets in a match twice. Nauman Ali has taken 89 wickets in his Test career so far at an average of 24.35. Out of these, he has taken 52 wickets in just the last 2 years.
Status of Pakistan-South Africa test
Talking about the Lahore Test being played between South Africa and Pakistan, the host team has got a lead of 108 runs in the first innings. After that, in the second innings, his three top order batsmen returned to the pavilion after adding 64 runs to the score board. Pakistan had scored 378 runs in its first innings. However, his score could have been bigger, if he had not lost his last 5 wickets for 65 runs.
