The three-match T20 series between Pakistan and South Africa has started. In the first match of the series, both the teams faced each other on the ground of Rawalpindi. With this match, Pakistan’s star batsman Babaj Azam made a comeback in T20I cricket. He came to play T20I match for Pakistan after almost a year. But this return was nothing special for him. Something happened to him which his fans would never have expected.

‘Accident’ happened with Babar on return

Babar Azam was being kept out of Pakistan’s T20 series since December 2024. The reason behind this was his poor strike rate. However, after Pakistan’s poor performance in Asia Cup 2025, he got a chance to make a comeback. But South Africa’s star fast bowler Corbin Bosch spoiled his comeback. Actually, Babar Azam could play only 2 balls in this match and was out without opening the account.

In the sixth over of Pakistan’s innings, Corbin Bosch bowled a short of good length ball, which was coming inwards on the line of Babar’s pads. Babar tried to take advantage of the last overs of the powerplay. He wanted to hit a shot from the top of the infield by taking a backaway stance, but the upper part of the bat hit him and due to the twist in the grip, the ball bounced in the air. This proved to be the easiest catch for the fielder standing at cover point. As soon as Babar was out, there was silence in the entire field.

South Africa gave a big target

In this match, South Africa batted first and put a big total on the board. The South African team managed to score 194 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. In such a situation, Pakistan was expecting a big innings from Babar while chasing the target, but he could not do so.
