Mumbai: Well-known actor and singer Piyush Mishra has openly told how alcohol addiction almost ruined his life. He admitted that he also harassed his mother while drunk. Not only this, he used to call women at night and talk obscenely and the next day he would not remember anything.
Piyush Mishra said in a podcast, “While drinking, I did many things which I later regretted a lot. I felt many times that I am not such a person. I also harassed my mother a lot. Under the influence of alcohol, I used to call women at night and say obscene things. The next morning I could not even remember what I had said. Later people would tell me that I had misbehaved with them on the phone.”
He further said, “I used to deny this too. But he would back up his point with evidence. I had almost lost my self-control. I started doing things that I should not have done, that I did not like. These were the things that I would have never done when I was conscious. During that period, I also faced a lot of difficulties professionally. My addiction to alcohol started affecting my work. People started saying that I was difficult to work with. I stopped getting work.”
