Saurabh Raj was a great devotee of Baba Mahakal.
Actually, the police and the temple committee have identified the deceased youth as Saurabh Raj Soni (47). Who was a resident of Parshvanath City of Ujjain. He was a great devotee of Baba Mahakal and used to attend Bhasma Aarti every Monday. He had also gone on the day of Diwali, but as soon as he reached near the temple gate at 1.30 in the night, he suddenly fell on the ground. People nearby took him to the hospital, but it was too late, he had already died.

Saurabh Raj Soni used to run a tea shop by the name of Vinayak Cafe in Freeganj area of Ujjain. People say that Saurabh was a very friendly and religious person. No matter what happens, he used to attend Bhasma Aarti every Monday. But he never thought that he would die in Baba’s premises. A few hours before his death, he had written on his WhatsApp status, ‘My body is made of clay, all my breaths are borrowed, my heart is of Mahakal, we are tenants.’ Devotees who visit Mahakal’s court every Monday have paid tribute to Saurabh, calling him a true devotee.
