Over 40 Bengaluru schools receive bomb threat emails today; search underway

Bengaluru: Panic swept through Bengaluru earlier today morning after more than 40 private schools across the city received bomb threat emails, prompting mass evacuations and a flurry of emergency responses. The alerts triggered immediate action in areas including RR Nagar, Kengeri, and several other neighbourhoods, where school authorities quickly evacuated students and staff as a precautionary measure.

Each school premises is undergoing thorough inspections, though no explosives have been found so far.  Security protocols were activated without delay, and emergency teams, including local police and the Bomb Disposal Squad, were deployed to the affected campuses. According to officials, the threats were delivered via email and are currently being investigated with the highest level of urgency.

Police said that searches and verification efforts are still underway, and experts are analysing the emails to trace their origin.

Similar threat emails delivered to over 20 schools in Delhi

Meanwhile, similar early morning tensions also gripped parts of the national capital once again as over 20 schools in Delhi also reported receiving bomb threat emails, triggering urgent investigation, heightened security, and large-scale search operations.

The first alert came from Richmondd Global School in Paschim Vihar, where school staff discovered a threatening email. Similar warnings soon surfaced at Sovereign School in Rohini Sector 24, Abhinav Public School in Rohini Sector 3, and several other institutions across North and West Delhi. Investigators noted that the emails shared striking similarities in both language and timing, raising concerns of a coordinated attempt to create public panic.

Police teams, bomb disposal units, and fire department personnel were swiftly deployed to all affected schools. While no explosives have been found during the exhaustive searches, premises remain under tight security. Students were kept in designated safe zones, and access for parents was strictly regulated as a precaution. Investigations are ongoing.
