New Delhi: Mohammed Siraj gifted India the wicket of Zak Crawley after a fantastic show by the batters as England’s chase for a victory in the fifth and final Test got tough. After Yashasvi Jasiwal, Akash Deep, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar helped India set England a daunting task of 374 runs to chase, Siraj’s effort on the second-last ball of the third day came as a good news for the visitors.
At stumps, England were 50/1, needing 324 more runs to win the Test match against India (224 & 396) with two more days of action remaining in the series finale. Zak Crawley departed on the penultimate delivery after scoring 16 runs while Ben Duckett was solidly placed on 34 off 48 balls as India breathed a sigh of relief after England’s 50-run opening-wicket stand.
