According to reports, the OPPO Reno 16 series will launch in India in July, which is around the same time the OPPO Reno 14 line-up was unveiled in the country. Moreover, the OPPO Reno 16c and Reno 16 Pro Mini will also accompany the 16 series in India.
OPPO Reno 16 Series Specifications: What to Expect
Leaks suggest the OPPO Reno 16 will carry a 6.32-inch flat OLED display, while the OPPO Reno 16 Pro is said to feature a larger 6.78-inch flat OLED panel, and both screens are tipped to support 1.5K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and more responsive visuals during gaming and everyday use.
Inside, the OPPO Reno 16 is rumoured to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 chipset, while the OPPO Reno 16 Pro is expected to rely on the Dimensity 9500s processor, and both smartphones are likely to pair these processors with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, aiming to deliver faster app launches and improved multitasking performance compared with earlier Reno models.
Battery capacity is another major talking point for the OPPO Reno 16 series, as the Reno 16 is tipped to come with a 6,700mAh battery and the OPPO Reno 16 Pro may include a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, with both devices expected to support 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging for quicker top-ups between heavy usage sessions.
For imaging, OPPO has confirmed a triple rear camera layout for the OPPO Reno 16 series, while leaks add that both phones should share a 200MP Samsung HP5 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, along with a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls, plus a metal frame and IP68 and IP69 ratings for resistance to dust and water.
