General Dwivedi said that there was anger across the country after the attack on tourists in Pahalgam on 22 April. The political leadership got an open exemption “You decide what to do” and this confidence increased the morale of the soldiers. On 25 April, in the Northern Command tour, seven important hideouts of the nine were selected and planned to attack them. All these locations were destroyed in Operation Sindoor and many terrorists were killed.

General Dwivedi said that earlier it was proposed to name Operation Sindhu, but later it was named Operation Sindoor. According to the Prime Minister, this small name can prove to unite and inspire the whole country.
