‘Operation Arahama’: Encounter breaks out between security forces, terrorists in J&K’s Ganderbal

New Delhi: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Arhama area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal on Tuesday. Two terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.

Both are believed to be foreign terrorists.

In a post on X, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said that it was a joint operation by Army and Jammu and Kashmir police.

“Based on specific intelligence input, joint search operation was launched by #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice in Gen area Arahama of Ganderbal. During the search, vigilant troops observed suspicious activity. On being challenged, terrorists opened fire and own troops retaliated,” the post read.

The encounter is still underway.
