New survey on alcohol
A survey was conducted on the rich people for drinking alcohol, in which shocking results have come out. The report of this survey has been released recently, which states that more than one third of Indian rich people do not like to drink alcohol. The survey was conducted among 150 Indians with assets of more than Rs 8.5 crore.
According to the Mercedes-Benz Hurun India Luxury Consumer Survey 2025, 34 percent of the people said that they do not drink alcohol at all, while 32 percent of the people replied that they like whiskey. At the same time, 11 percent people like to drink red wine and 9 percent people. Now the question arises that in which state of the country is the highest money spent on liquor?
People of these states spend the most money on alcohol
In fact, in August last year, an autonomous research institute, ie National Public Finance and Policy Institute (NIPFP), had released a survey report, according to which, the maximum amount of money is spent in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana across the country. The NSSO’s 2011-12 domestic consumption expenditure survey shows that the average annual consumption expenditure on liquor in Andhra Pradesh is the highest annual consumption expenditure, while the consumer pyramid domestic survey (SPHS) of CMIE shows that Telangana’s families drink liquor worth Rs 1,623 per person per person.
If seen based on the data of both NSSO and CMIE, then the lowest spending state is Uttar Pradesh, where this expenditure is Rs 75 and Rs 49 respectively. According to survey data by NSSO, other major states that spend the most per capita on liquor include Kerala (Rs 486), Himachal Pradesh (Rs 457), Punjab (Rs 453), Tamil Nadu (Rs 330) and Rajasthan (308 rupees).
