Srinagar: A terrorist was killed in a counter-terrorism operation in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, the Indian Army said.
At around 10 am, the Indian Army, in coordination with the Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP) and CRPF Srinagar, launched a search operation in the Guddar forest area of Kulgam. The operation was initiated following inputs from the Jammu and Kashmir police regarding suspicious activity in the region.
While the troops were carrying out the search operation, the terrorists opened fire, prompting an exchange of gunfire. The exchange resulted in the death of one terrorist and minor injuries to a junior commissioned officer.

The operation is still ongoing, the Chiar Corps informed on social media.
