Chhath Puja will start from Nahay Khay from 25th October. On this day, to please Chhathi Maiya, delicious Prasad of bottle gourd or pumpkin rice is made in homes. Let us tell you that bottle gourd is also called pumpkin in Bihar. Onion and garlic are not used in Prasad. If you too will perform Chhath Puja for the first time after marriage, then know how the taste of Lauki Bhaat Prasad can be doubled.

Mix chana dal with bottle gourd

Various methods are used to make Lauki Bhaat. In some houses, where only the bottle gourd is fried in oil and eaten with rice, in some houses gram dal is also mixed with the bottle gourd. If you want to make Chhath Prasad tasty, then definitely add chana dal. For this, you have to soak chana dal in water for two to three hours. Cut the gram dal and bottle gourd into slightly larger pieces and add them to the cooker. Now to enhance its taste, add bay leaf, black pepper, green chilli and one spoon of ghee. After 5 whistles, remove and turn off the flame.

Don’t forget to sprinkle chana dal.

Even though onion and garlic are not eaten on Chhath, you can make gram and gourd dal tasty by sprinkling it with ghee and cumin, graded ginger and green chillies. If you wish, also chop your favorite curry leaves and green coriander and mix it.

Use mustard seeds with bottle gourd

If you are making only bottle gourd vegetable, then use mustard seeds instead of cumin seeds. If bottle gourd vegetable is sprinkled with mustard seeds, its taste doubles. Use ghee instead of mustard oil for frying vegetables.

Do not make plain rice

When making rice or rice, make sure to use one spoon of ghee in it also. When the ghee becomes slightly hot, do not forget to add tempering of 4 cloves and black pepper. Then sprinkle the swollen rice in water. Add rock salt instead of white salt in rice.
