On Gudi Padwa, CM Mohan Yadav launched Jal Ganga Augmentation Campaign 2026 from Indore. Water conservation works will be done with Rs 2500 crores. The campaign will run till June 30 and emphasis will be on enhancing water sources across the state.

Bhopal/ Indore. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav started the third phase of “Jal Ganga Enhancement Campaign” by offering Ganga water in the pond located in the ISKCON temple complex of Indore on the occasion of Nav Samvatsar and Gudi Padwa. On this occasion, he offered prayers and wished for the prosperity and prosperity of the state and also worshiped the cow. Under this campaign, work on water conservation and promotion of water sources will be done through public participation in all the districts, urban bodies and gram panchayats of entire Madhya Pradesh. This campaign will run till 30 June 2026.

Jal Ganga Augmentation Drive 2026: Features of the third phase

Launching the campaign, the Chief Minister said that in the first year this campaign is being run for 30 days, in the second year for 120 days and now in the third year for 139 days from Gudi Padwa to Ganga Dussehra. He said that this campaign is related to our culture and nature. Life is not possible without water, hence it is necessary to make water conservation a mass movement. The Chief Minister also wished the people of the state on Gudi Padwa, Vikram Samvat, Chetichand and Chaitra Navratri.

Madhya Pradesh: Motherland of rivers and big campaign for water conservation

The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is called the motherland of rivers, from where more than 250 rivers originate. The water of Mother Narmada is benefiting the state as well as other states. Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are also benefiting from river linking projects. This year, water conservation and harvesting works will be done across the state at a cost of approximately Rs 2500 crore.

Development work in Indore: Promotion of renovation of ponds

Many development works were started in Indore under Amrit 2.0 project.

  • Limbodi Pond: 4.89 crores
  • Chhota Sirpur Pond: 3.82 crores

Overall, bhoomi pujan of works worth about Rs 22 crore was performed. The Chief Minister also administered an oath to save water and explain the importance of every drop.

The Chief Minister said that water is life and it is the responsibility of all of us to save it. Rivers are the lifeline of the earth. He laid emphasis on conservation and renovation of old wells, ponds, stepwells and water sources. 21 stepwells have been rebuilt in Indore.
