Tottenham Hotspur have reached a full agreement with Manchester City to sign Egyptian international forward Omar Marmoush, with the deal structured as an initial season-long loan featuring a mandatory purchase obligation of £50 million.
The total package could reach up to £60 million when including £10 million in performance-related add-ons. The 27-year-old forward has been granted permission by City to travel to London to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms on a long-term deal.
Structure of the Agreement
Negotiations between the two Premier League clubs advanced swiftly ahead of the transfer deadline.Under the agreed terms, Tottenham will take Marmoush on loan for the 2026-27 campaign before triggering an obligatory permanent transfer next summer.
The financial breakdown consists of:
- A guaranteed £50 million fixed payment.
- An additional £10 million in potential bonuses, of which £5 million is considered easily achievable.
- Personal terms agreed in principle on a four-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Former club Eintracht Frankfurt, who sold Marmoush to Manchester City in January 2025, do not hold a sell-on clause on the transaction after their financial obligations were fulfilled in previous agreements.
Marmoush arrived at the Etihad Stadium in January 2025 following a prolific spell in the Bundesliga, where he scored 20 goals in 26 appearances during the first half of the 2024-25 season.While he contributed seven goals in his first 16 appearances for City, regular starting opportunities became limited behind Erling Haaland.
His final competitive outing for Pep Guardiola’s side came as a second-half substitute during the FA Community Shield against Arsenal at Wembley.
The addition of Marmoush addresses Tottenham’s search for a dynamic, versatile forward capable of operating across the front line. Capable of playing as a central focal point or cutting in from the flanks, Marmoush provides tactical flexibility and direct goal threat as Spurs seek to reinforce their attacking depth for domestic and European commitments.
