Oman will start its new golden visa program for investors on 31 August. The program is part of a comprehensive initiative, which aims to strengthen Oman status as a global investment center and speed up digital changes in commerce. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion stated that the program will be launched with the initiative “Al Majida Companies”, which has been designed to support high -performing Omani firms.
Apart from this, a new service will also be introduced through the “Oman Business” platform enabling electronic transfer of commercial registrations.

- Oman’s golden visa offers investors 5 or 10 years renewable residence permits, allowing them to live, work and study in Oman without the need for local sponsorship to them, their spouse, children under 25 years of age, and dependent parents.
- Investors can gain eligibility through capital investment in major areas such as procurement of real estate, ownership of the company, or real estate, IT, renewable energy and tourism. Visa holders have full vocational ownership rights.
- The program provides tax exemption, right to property ownership in freehold regions, quality healthcare and education, and establishes Oman as a stable, business-friendly destination to suit its economic diversification vision 2040 scheme.
Investors will get long -term residence permit
The Golden Visa program provides a long -term residence permit to investors, which reflects Oman’s strategy to establish itself as a global investment center. Mubarak bin Mohammad Al Dohani, Director General of Planning at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, highlighted the role of the program in promoting a permanent business environment by combining regulatory reforms with continuous support for local firms.

With the visa program, Oman will launch a streamlined digital platform for electronic transfer of commercial registrations, which will be an important step towards a complete digital business ecosystem.
The purpose of this system is to reduce time saving and operational costs for businesses, as well as promoting transparency and easy business administration. The inauguration ceremony to be held in Salalah will include signs of cooperation agreements with major institutions such as Sultan Kabus University, German Technology University, Oman Energy Association and Abina.
These collaborations are designed to use educational expertise and private sector capabilities to promote innovation and development in Oman’s construction industry. Oman’s golden visa program and digital trading reforms attract investment, promoting economic diversification and a concrete effort to modernize regulatory structures.
