Ollie Bearman launches bike shop and cafe in Monaco while racing for Haas

Haas rising star Ollie Bearman has expanded his horizons beyond the racetrack with a bold new business venture in Monaco, the famed playground of Formula 1 elites.

The 21-year-old British driver, who joined the sport’s top tier in 2025 and quickly earned a reputation as one of the brightest talents, is not only fighting for midfield glory with Haas but also staking a claim in the principality’s thriving cycling culture.

Bearman, a Ferrari Driver Academy member widely tipped as a future successor to seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton at Scuderia Ferrari, revealed on the Beyond the Grid podcast that he and close friends have launched a bike shop in Monaco. The shop, located above the city, taps into the local passion for cycling, a sport that has captivated Bearman and his circle beyond the MotoGP paddock.

“We have a bike shop with a few friends. We’ve opened up a bike shop above Monaco,” Bearman said. “It’s a really popular area for cycling… it’s really cool. We’re really happy with how it’s going.” Emphasizing the project’s personal significance, he described it as a “passion project” where they have creative control over operations.

Adding a unique twist, the shop doubles as a café, serving homemade banana bread and cakes. “It’s our own banana bread. It’s our own cakes,” Bearman noted. “So it’s nice. It’s enjoyable.” Acknowledging the discerning tastes of cycling enthusiasts, Bearman highlighted their dedication to quality coffee. “We focus on good coffee,” he admitted. “Although I don’t really enjoy coffee, I know it’s incredibly important, and cyclists are very picky about coffee. That’s one thing I’ve learned.” Proudly, he concluded, “But what I do enjoy is the cakes, and we have good cakes. So I’m proud.”

The move to Monaco for Bearman was a natural step in 2025, aligning with many of his Formula 1 peers who choose the principality as their base. Yet, his entrepreneurial leap into the cycling retail and café scene signals a savvy diversification that complements his racing career. As Bearman continues to impress on the F1 grid, this venture reveals a multifaceted personality blending sport, lifestyle, and business in one of motorsport’s most iconic locales.
