Bhopal: On International Older Day, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav called upon the people of the state to be committed for selfless service and honor of the elders. The Chief Minister said that old people are the backbone of society, family and nation. His experience, knowledge and rituals always remain an inspiration for the younger generation.

Why are the basis of elderly society?

The Chief Minister said that old people are strong pillars of any culture and society. His experiences and learning of life gives the right direction to the youth and children. Dr. Yadav appealed to the elders to honor them, describing them as “deity”. He said that it is not just a tradition to respect the old man, but the responsibility of the society.

15.75 lakh elderly benefits from pension scheme in Madhya Pradesh

The Chief Minister also informed that under the overall social security pension scheme, more than 15 lakh 75 thousand old people are being benefited regularly in the state. They get a pension of Rs 600 per month. A total of Rs 1143 crore 53 lakh was spent on this scheme in the financial year 2024-25.

The scheme plays an important role in maintaining the economic security of the elderly as well as their honor and quality of life.

Why did CM say “all are determined”?

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav requested all the citizens to take a pledge for the service and honor of the elderly on the occasion of Vriddhajan Day. He said that the elderly are guides of society and it is the responsibility of every citizen to take care of them.

Dr. Yadav said that the life experience, knowledge and rituals of the elderly continuously inspire the new generation. Youth can learn from their experience and bring positive changes in their lives. This is why the state government is committed to his welfare and respect.
