This time during Valentine’s Week, people did a lot of online shopping. Everyone bought flowers and chocolates in abundance for their partners and friends. Along with this, demand for condoms and other products related to sexual wellness has also been high. Delivery company Instamart has released a report on this, according to which this time more purchases have been made in Valentine’s Week than last year. People have made a new record.
This time during Valentine’s Week i.e. from 7th February to 14th February, people ordered a lot of sexual wellness products. According to the report, this time people have ordered more sexual wellness items as compared to the year 2025. Among cities, Bengaluru led in total gifting volume, followed by Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Chocolates saw the biggest jump
On Valentine’s Day i.e. 14th February, around 11:59 am, the orders per minute reached 1,042, which was Instamart’s highest orders per minute on Valentine’s Day. In this, people bought a lot of Heart’s apple chocolates, its search increased by 500% every week. Which shows the tremendous demand for themed products. Silky, dark, nutty and fruity variants were frequently added to carts.
Expensive shopping was also special
A customer in Kolkata placed a large order worth more than Rs 25,000, which included premium dark chocolate, milk chocolate and special gift packs. Expensive and big carts were also seen in Hyderabad and Delhi. This shows that the demand for expensive and bulk gifts is continuously increasing on the Quick Commerce platform.
Surge in demand for flowers and gifts
The demand for roses was very high right from the beginning. Its search increased 10 times as compared to last week. Teddy Day soft toy orders grew by 568% year-on-year, making it one of the fastest growing categories. Most people ordered the plush toy along with chocolate and cake.
Spending on beauty and personal care also
People also spent lavishly on beauty and personal care products. A customer in Cuttack spent Rs 15,093 on makeup in one go. In Surat, a person placed an order worth Rs 10,845 for bath, body and hair care items on Valentine’s Day at 12:01 am. It is clear that people are showing interest in traditional gifts as well as self-care items.
