Dwayne Bravo was too honest for his own good during a pre-tournament press conference organized by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday (March 19) ahead of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is set to begin on March 28. Bravo is the mentor of the franchise and was one of four people who came out to answer questions from the media alongside skipper Ajinkya Rahane, head coach Abhishek Nayyar, and assistant coach Shane Watson.
As the four men walked out and took their seats, Bravo did not realize his words were audible on camera. He was heard telling Watson and Nayyar that ‘When these guys called me, I had two chicks at my home. Rahane was quick to ensure no more damage was done and pointed out to the West Indies cricket legend that the mics were on. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend was evidently left embarrassed. ‘Oh shit,’ he responded after being made aware of the situation by the KKR captain.
KKR’s IPL 2026 Campaign
The Knight Riders will kickstart their campaign in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday (March 29) against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium. After a forgettable season in 2025, where they entered the season as defending champions but finished 8th in the table, the three-time winners have overhauled their squad, as they were the most active team in the auction after releasing some key players, including club legend Andre Russell. They signed Cameron Green for a record fee of Rs. 25.20 crores.
However, they have been hit with a player availability crisis as they were asked to release Mustafizur Rahman by the BCCI, while fitness is not yet clear. Meanwhile, capped Indian pacers and have been ruled out due to injury.
