Officers will not be able to attend RSS programs, read what Priyank Kharge wrote to the CM. Priyank Kharge Urges Ban On Government Employees In Rss Activities

Minister Priyank Kharge has written a letter to the CM demanding a ban on government employees participating in RSS activities. Citing civil service rules, he has urged for disciplinary action against violators.

Bengaluru: Amidst receiving threat calls over the letter demanding a ban on RSS activities at government places, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has written another letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on the RSS issue. Minister Priyank Kharge has written another letter to the Chief Minister demanding a strict ban on government officials and employees taking part in RSS activities and taking disciplinary action against those who violate it. This letter was written on October 13 and has come out late.

What’s in the letter?

According to the Karnataka Civil Services (Conduct) Rules-2021, it is clearly directed that no government servant should be a member of any political party or any association or organization taking part in politics, nor should be associated with them in any other way. Also, he should not take part in any political movement or activity, nor should he give donations or provide any kind of assistance in support of it.

Despite this, in recent times it has been seen that government officials and employees are taking part in programs and activities organized by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other organizations. Therefore, the Minister, in a letter to the Chief Minister, has requested that the concerned authorities be directed to issue a circular strictly prohibiting the participation of state government officials and employees in programs and activities organized by RSS and other organizations and disciplinary action should be taken against the officials and employees violating it.

Minister Priyank Kharge and his family had received threatening calls after the letter written on October 4 demanding a ban on RSS activities became public. In this regard, acting on their complaint, the state police has arrested a person who made the threat in Maharashtra.
