ODOP 2.0 Uttar Pradesh: Local industry, exports and employment will get new strength through ODOP 2.0 in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government is also going to start One District-One Cuisine scheme, through which the traditional food products of every district will get recognition in the global market.
Yogi Adityanath ODOP Meeting: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the ‘One District-One Product’ (ODOP) scheme has now become the identity of UP and its next phase, ODOP 2.0, is ready to take the state’s local industries, self-employment and exports to new heights. He said that in view of the changing global market and technological needs, there is a need to give the scheme a more commercial and comprehensive form, so that traditional products can become a strong base for large markets, exports and employment.
Special dishes of every district will get recognition: Preparation of ‘One District-One Dish’ scheme
In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that every district of UP has its own special food tradition. Therefore, the ‘One District-One Cuisine’ (ODOC) scheme will also be taken forward. He said that from Halwa to Dalmoth, special dishes of every district should be mapped and their quality, hygiene, packaging, branding and marketing should be improved. According to the CM, ODOP and ODOC together will play an important role in taking the state from ‘local to global’.
ODOP scheme has already become the economic backbone of UP
Officials said that the ODOP scheme, started in the year 2018, has today become a strong base for the state’s exports and local industries. So far-
- More than 1.25 lakh toolkits distributed
- Loan disbursement of more than Rs 6,000 crore
- Direct marketing support to 8,000+ entrepreneurs
- 30 shared facility centers approved
- 44 ODOP products have been geo tagged
- Major presence on e-commerce platforms
- Contributes more than 50% to the state’s total exports
- Apart from this, the scheme has also received the National Award twice consecutively.

ODOP 2.0: Emphasis on technology, quality and market improvement
CM Yogi said that ODOP 2.0 will not be just a scheme, but a means of providing permanent employment and giving new heights to exports. He directed that the entrepreneurs who did good work in the first phase should be further promoted so that they can expand their business. He also said that the focus should be on strengthening the position of UP products in these four areas – technology, packaging, quality and market.
Common facility centers will be more strong and help from experts will also be available.
It was told in the meeting that now the common facility centers will be made more useful. The Chief Minister said that at these centres, complete facilities related to design, packaging, technical consultation and production should be made available at one place, so that small entrepreneurs can get complete assistance.

ODOP products will be linked to large retail networks and Unity Mall
The Chief Minister said that ODOP products should not be limited to traditional markets only, but should also reach large retail networks and modern markets across the country. He directed that dedicated centers for ODOP should be set up in Unity Malls being built in different states and UP products should be displayed at prominent places in collaboration with major retail chains.
Emphasis on brand value and certification for global recognition
Officials said that ODOP products will be provided certification and brand value in collaboration with reputed institutions, thereby giving them distinct identity in the global market.
