Prasidhi Poddar won the Women’s Singles gold medal at the Odisha Open, an Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) sanctioned PWR 200 event, held at Bhubaneswar, on August 15-16. Prasidhi got the better of Ayushi Roy in the final, winning 15-8 in a match that saw her control the pace right from the start.
She played with a lot of confidence throughout and did not give her opponent much room to build any momentum.
Ayushi put in a good effort and showed why she made it all the way to the final, but she could not keep up with Prasidhi’s steady play. She finished with the silver medal after going down 8-15.
The Women’s Singles category at the Odisha Open saw some strong performances through the tournament, and this final was one of the highlights. Prasidhi’s win here adds another good result to her singles record and shows her growing form in the format.
