Puri: Industrialist Gautam Adani along with his family members is visiting Odisha’s Puri. He participated in the famous Rath Yatra at the Jagganath Temple in the city. The yatra is considered to be very auspicious amongst the devotees of Lord Jagannathan and thousands come to take part in the Yatra.
Corporate Social Responsibility and Adani
Gautam Adani’s company, under its Corporate Social responsibility is distributing food among the devotees at this year’s Rath Yatra. They had also taken up a similar drive during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, earlier.
Adani was accompanied by his wife Priti Adani and son Karan Adani at the Puri Rath Yatra. The Adani group is also assisting families and people attending the 9-day yatra.
The Adani Foundation, apart from food distribution is also providing drinking water to pilgrims, safety gear for the workers and collaborating with local institutions and volunteers to help organise a successful yatra. The Adani Group has committed to provide an estimated 4 million meals and beverages to devotees from June 26 to July 8. The food is being distributes through different counters put up across Puri.
The Rath Yatra in Puri is widely recognised as the oldest and largest Hindu chariot festival.
