just emotional connection

Every year thousands of Indians go abroad for better education, higher paying jobs and better lifestyle. Countries like Canada, America, UK and Australia still remain favorite destinations for professionals and students. A user named Swapnil Kommavar wrote a post on ‘X’ about this. He mentioned a conversation he had with a friend of his who lives in Canada.

Swapnil wrote, “My friend told me that even after earning Rs 5-6 crore, many people do not feel like coming back to India. It is not that they hate India, but because life is easier there (abroad).” According to the friend, the reason for this is the corruption, bad work culture, traffic, daily mental stress and dirt that still exists in India. Swapnil finally added that this is not a judgment, he has just shared what his friend said.

As soon as this post went viral, a debate broke out on India’s work culture, infrastructure and lifestyle. Many people wrote in the comments that they completely agreed with what Swapnil’s friend said. People said that migrants have only an emotional connection with their country, but in practical life they want a better life.

One user wrote, “You are absolutely right. Every job in India is tiring. I am getting old fast here. Not kidding. Guess what? The problem is not the government, but the attitude and culture of every Indian. No one wants to work properly, everyone takes shortcuts. The whole system has become like a rusty old car.” At the same time, many people also told that in many foreign countries one has to work only four or five days a week, whereas in India people are forced to work 24/7.
