The Jammu and Kashmir Police have clarified that the powerful explosion that ripped through the Nowgam Police Station late Friday night was accidental, ruling out any terror involvement in the incident that killed nine people and left 27 injured.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, J&K Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat said the blast took place while a large cache of explosive material and chemicals which was earlier seized from Faridabad was being examined and handled with “utmost caution” due to its highly sensitive nature.
