Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and CM Yogi Adityanath flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles in Lucknow. Yogi said- BrahMos is the most capable weapon to protect not only India but the friendly countries of the world. UP becomes the defense hub of self-reliant India.
India’s defense prowess and innovation took a new shape on Saturday in the historic land of Lucknow, when the flag off ceremony of the first batch of supersonic missiles developed by BrahMos Aerospace was performed by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Amidst the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, this flag off ceremony became a symbol of the confluence of patriotism, pride and technological self-reliance. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “BrahMos is the most capable weapon to protect not only India but also friendly countries around the world.”
BrahMos: India’s strength, world’s security
CM Yogi Adityanath clearly said from the stage that with the production of BrahMos missile, India has now become capable of protecting its own security needs as well as that of friendly countries. He thanked the efforts of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing the dream of ‘Make in India’ to the ground.
Defense Manufacturing Corridor: Powerful center of employment and development
The Chief Minister said that more than 2,500 acres of land has been made available in six nodes of the Defense Manufacturing Corridor in Lucknow and five other cities. So far 15,000 youth have got jobs. Iconic projects of defense sector are progressing rapidly in Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi and Chitrakoot.

Confluence of security, innovation and economic prosperity
CM Yogi said that a large number of engineers, youth holding ITI and polytechnic degrees are working in the BrahMos campus. This center is touching all dimensions of security, industrial development, employment and technological innovation. The state government is working on two centers of excellence with IIT Kanpur and BHU, which will make the state a leader in defense technology and innovation.
When the land of Lucknow started spewing gold
At the ceremony, DG (BrahMos) handed over a GST check of Rs 40 crore to the Chief Minister. Yogi said, “There will be a huge increase in GST if there is an increase from 100 to 150 BrahMos missiles every year, which will strengthen the economy of the state. The land of Lucknow is now spewing gold for national defense and economic development.”
Unique celebration of technology, patriotism and employment
The demonstration of airframe, avionics, PDI of warhead, BrahMos simulator, mobile launcher and storage trolley in the ceremony showed the strength of Indian technology. The two leaders also planted a Rudraksha sapling in the premises, which is a symbol of prosperity and greenery.
