Now ration will not go missing! GPS system breaks the back of black marketing in UP. Up Gps Tracking Ration System Transparency

GPS equipped vehicles have brought transparency in the food grain distribution system in UP. Real time monitoring of more than 5 thousand vehicles has stopped theft and black marketing of grains from warehouse to shop. The public distribution system has been strengthened by single stage door step delivery.

Where once questions were raised on the government ration system, now with the help of technology, Uttar Pradesh has changed the picture of the public distribution system. From the warehouse to the fair price shop, every bag of food grains is now under digital surveillance. The use of GPS equipped vehicles has not only increased transparency in the lifting of food grains, but has also dealt a decisive blow to theft and black marketing.

More than 5 thousand vehicles, a strong monitoring chain

GPS devices have been installed in more than 5 thousand vehicles involved in transportation of food grains in the state. Through these vehicles, grains are being transported directly from the depots of the Food Corporation of India to the fair price shops. When the vehicle started, where it stopped and whether it reached the shop within the stipulated time or not, every activity is being recorded in the real time system. Due to this, the scope for misappropriation and diversion of food grains along the way has almost been eliminated.

Digital tracking to curb black marketing

GPS based tracking system has put an end to the irregularities that have been going on in the public distribution system for years. Now neither the grain can disappear midway nor can it be landed at any other place. The activity of every vehicle is being monitored through the control system, due to which accountability is being fixed and black marketing is being effectively curbed.

Strictness in purchase of paddy and coarse grains also

GPS tracking has also been made mandatory during paddy procurement in the Kharif marketing season 2025-26. GPS devices have been installed in 3773 vehicles engaged in transporting paddy from purchasing centers to rice mills in all the districts of the state. Along with this, 1428 vehicles have also been linked to GPS for transportation of coarse grains like maize, jowar and millet. With this, the entire supply chain from government procurement to storage has become transparent.

System strengthened by single stage door step delivery

In Uttar Pradesh, the system of block warehouses has been abolished and single stage door step delivery model has been implemented. Now food grains are being delivered directly to the fair price shops from the depots of the Food Corporation of India. This system is being operated through e-tender through selected contractors, due to which human intervention has been reduced and responsibility has been fixed. This model with GPS tracking has become the backbone of the public distribution system.

Secure and timely supply to beneficiaries

So far, 8.03 lakh metric tonnes of food grains and coarse grains have been allocated to the selected beneficiaries of the state in the financial year 2025-26. Apart from this, 36,850.35 metric tonnes of sugar has also been allocated for Antyodaya beneficiaries. The GPS tracking system is ensuring that this food grain reaches the beneficiaries without any cuts, theft and at the right time.

This combination of technology, monitoring and willpower has proved that even the government rationing system can be made transparent and trustworthy. The Yogi government has a clear message – now government food grains will reach the needy directly instead of on the way.
