Approval of Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib Ropeway project in Uttarakhand, agreement between Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and NHLML. This project, which is made at a cost of thousands of crores, will give smooth travel to devotees and new flights to tourism.
A big step has been taken to give a new flight to Uttarakhand’s religious faith and tourism. In the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the historic agreement was signed between the state government and the National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) at the Secretariat on Tuesday. Under this agreement, a state -of -the -art ropeway will be constructed up to Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib, which will make the journey of devotees smooth and safe.
Share and investment in agreement
In this partnership, NHLML will have 51 percent and 49 percent equity share of the state government. Under the revenue partnership, 90 percent of the amount will be invested in the field of tourism, transport and mobility of Uttarakhand.

Ropeway will be built at a cost of more than 6800 crores
Chief Minister Dhami said that under the Parmtala project, the 12.9 km long rope from Sonprayag to Kedarnath will be built at a cost of about Rs 4100 crore. At the same time, the 12.4 km long ropeway between Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib will be ready at a cost of more than Rs 2700 crore.
Blessing for devotees and local people
CM Dhami said that these projects will not only give new identity to religious and cultural heritage, but will also create new opportunities in tourism, employment and environmental protection. Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj described it as a big step towards increasing local economy and employment.
Part of Modi government’s connectivity vision
Chief Minister Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, rail, road and ropeway connectivity in Uttarakhand is increasing rapidly. Projects like Chardham Allweather Road, Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Road, Sitarganj-Tanakpur Motor Road, Paonta Sahib-Dehradun Road are examples of this direction.
Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta described it as a historic day for the state and said that these ropeway projects will provide great facilities to the devotees. The agreement, which was in the presence of officials and experts, is considered to be the beginning of the new era for tourism and religious journey of Uttarakhand.
