CBSE Motu Patlu Comics: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a unique initiative to increase tax awareness in the country and make children responsible citizens. Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, CBSE has launched 8 comic books based on ‘Motu-Patlu’. These comics have been published by the Directorate of Income Tax Department. Know what children will learn through Motu-Patlu comics.
Motu-Patlu will give tax information to children
In these comics, famous cartoon characters Motu and Patlu have been made the main characters. Through these, important topics like why it is important for children to pay taxes, benefits of paying taxes on time and the role of taxes in the development of the country have been explained in a very easy and fun way. It is told in the comics that if every citizen pays taxes honestly, the country progresses rapidly. As Motu says in one scene, now I will also pay advance tax on time and become an honest taxpayer. To which Patlu replies, now both of us will pay taxes on time, so that the burden does not increase at the end of the year and the country progresses.

CBSE will add tax literacy to schools
CBSE in its circular has appealed to all affiliated schools to share these comics among students, teachers and parents. The circular states that if schools wish, they can include the content of these comics in awareness activities, so that children can develop tax literacy and a sense of responsible citizenship from an early age.

Motu-Patlu comics available in many languages
These comic books are available in five languages, English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Gujarati, so that children across the country can easily understand them. Their titles are-
- Benefit of thick and thin and law.
- Motu-Patlu and our great India.
- Motu-Patlu and we are together.
- Fat-thin and online life.
- There is victory over fat, thin and fear.
- Motu-Patlu and the story of income tax.
- Motu-Patlu and the tax fairy.
- Motu-Patlu and the story of PAN card.

Fun games for kids in comics too
Small quick games and puzzles for children, such as mazes, have also been added at the end of each book, creating the perfect combination of learning and fun. There is also an interesting character ‘Jaankari Babu’ in the comics, who teaches children important things related to tax.
His dialogue is-
“I am your information Babu,
Let me give complete information about tax to everyone.
Those who pay taxes honestly,
Will be called ‘hero’ in the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.”
This initiative of CBSE will not only make children understand the importance of tax while playing, but will also motivate them to become responsible taxpayers in future.
