New Delhi: A new case has been registered against industrialist Anil Ambani. This case has been registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the complaint of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). It has been alleged in the complaint that Anil Ambani committed a fraud of Rs 4500 crore and got the investment from LIC by giving wrong financial information of the company.

CBI has registered a case in this matter under sections of criminal conspiracy, fraud, misappropriation of funds and anti-corruption law. It is alleged that wrong information was given about the financial condition of Anil Ambani’s company Reliance Communications (RCom). On the basis of this false information, LIC was instigated to invest in Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) worth Rs 4500 crore. LIC has filed this complaint on the basis of a forensic audit report of BDO India, which came on 15 October 2020.

There were many shocking revelations in this report. It revealed that funds raised from banks and financial institutions were misused. The money was transferred to other companies of the group. Apart from this, irregularities like raising funds through fake bills and withdrawing money by showing fake transactions were also revealed.

This is not the first time that such allegations have been made against Anil Ambani and his company Reliance Communications. Even before this, CBI has registered three cases against him in fraud cases.
