Bihar Janata Darbar 2025: Bihar government has launched a new initiative for quick resolution of land disputes. Now a special Lok Adalat will be organized every Saturday in the state, where people will be able to hear their cases directly.
Sitamarhi News: There has always been a problem of land dispute in the state. So far, several steps have been taken by the government to deal with this problem, but this is a problem that is increasing rather than ending. A large population of the state is entangled in land disputes. So far, all the rules and regulations of the revenue department have proved insufficient to resolve land disputes. Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary has given some suggestions to DM and SP of all districts to resolve land disputes at their level.
Land dispute hearing merely formalities
To resolve land disputes, CO and SHO hear cases at every police station every Saturday and take decisions/action in its light. This is the order of the state government. However, what has been happening in the hearing in the name of resolution of disputes, all know well. Experts say that meeting in police stations on Saturday is not possible to solve the disputes. That is, this initiative of the government did not prove to be effective. This is the reason that due to lack of cases in police stations, cases of land dispute are increasing in the court.
Letter after the instructions of the Chief Secretary
It is reported that on July 22, the Chief Secretary reviewed the regular and effective monitoring of cases related to land dispute. Necessary suggestions were given after review through video conferencing. All DM and SP were associated with video conferencing. In the light of the instructions of the Chief Secretary, SP Amit Ranjan has issued a letter informing the general public that the Janata Durbar will be organized in the Zonal offices every Saturday for an effective resolution of land disputes. It has been said that if the need for site inspection for settlement of a land dispute case is felt, the station and the zonal office will jointly inspect the site, so that the complete information can be obtained while taking the decision later.

Public court record will be kept
The offline record of the Janata Durbar will be kept, in which the documents related to the dispute and the decisions taken in the weekly meeting will be kept in details. SP will deploy police forces to protect the common people and maintain law and order and in CO Zonal offices. If the documents are found to be fake, they will be investigated intense. Such people will not be spared if found fake. That is, like other criminal cases, action will be taken against them under the provisions described in the Indian Code and Indian Civil Protection Code in the cases related to land dispute.
