It is designed in such a way that it can hit its targets while staying away from enemy air defense systems. So far, the US has used more than 1,000 JASSM-ER missiles in the first four weeks of the war.
Will a large part of the American stockpile be lost?
The order to remove these missiles from the Pacific region’s stockpile was issued in March. Of the 2,300 pre-war missiles, only about 425 remain. This means reserves elsewhere in the US are now limited. In addition, about 75 missiles are no longer in use due to technical faults.
